Music Expressed through Typography

Design Statement

Using the song "All These Things I’ve Done" by the killers I expressively showed the concept, rhythm and melody through typography. This is one of may all-time favorite songs, the lyrics and beat make it impossible not to dance and bop your head. I wanted to use black and white with the use of primary colors to display boldness and directness to represent this song. The typeface I chose was “Gala”. I felt like this complimented the album cover, which has the repetition of lines seen in the target. I used the repetition of lines throughout my different panels, from lines the emulate the beat, the slash clusters I created to show the building and rising tension of the beat. My compositions help make thing song come to life, using cohesive elements and a steady use of color, it allows you to not only see the music but feel it.
